Top tips for skin this winter

As we get further into winter, we layer our clothes and turn the heating full blast it can often mean that our skin suffers from the temperature changes. Especially as the warm conditions inside can often be the polar opposite of those outside! Here’s our top tips for helping to protect skin this winter…

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. More is more!
    You can never use too much moisturiser, especially during the colder months when skin is more likely to become dry and cracked. We recommend using an everyday moisturiser such as QV Skin Lotion, which is can be applied as often as needed throughout the day to help keep skin hydrated over the festive season.

  2. Stay hydrated
    As you will already know drinking water is extremely important, especially when it comes to helping skin stay hydrated. If possible, and especially if you’ve been up late over the Christmas period, try and drink at least eight glasses of water a day. You could try adding a slice of lemon into water to help keep your body hydrated and flush the digestive system.

 

  1. Wear sunscreen
    It may not be sunny but it’s important to wear a sunscreen daily to help to keep your skin healthy and to keep wrinkles at bay! Winter sun, combined with snow glare if we have a white Christmas, can cause damage to your skin. So make sure if you’re outside to apply a high factor sunscreen, such as our sister brand SunSense, to your hands and face!

  2. Keep hands protected
    It can be tricky to keep hands feeling soft, especially during winter, because the skin on the hands is a lot thinner than everywhere else on your body. Exposing your hands to the cold air can leave skin feeling cracked and neglected. Invest in a good pair of gloves, preferably cotton so that your skin can breathe, to keep hands protected from the harsh cold air.
